Get named when buyers ask AI for a cleaning company.

Facility managers now ask ChatGPT and Gemini long questions with conditions in them: the building, the size, nights, insurance, price. Map those questions to your pages, test them honestly, and fix what's missing. Facts checked October 2026.

How AI picks a company

When a buyer asks ChatGPT or Gemini for a cleaning company, the AI searches the web and names the companies it can back up. Three things decide who gets named.

  1. An answer it can quote. A page that answers the buyer's exact question in its first lines is easy to quote. A page that only says “contact us for details” isn't.
  2. Proof from other websites. Google Business Profiles are the number one source AI cites about local businesses: 28.5% of everything it quoted in BrightLocal's study. Course 07 covers the rest: listings, local lists and mentions.
  3. A match on the conditions. When we asked ChatGPT for a commercial cleaner, it asked back: what type of building, how often, how big, and what matters most to you.

Start with your Google Business Profile. For most commercial cleaners, the primary category is “Janitorial service”. Google has no “Commercial cleaning service” category.
